The first Leibniz Research School of the Leibniz Universität Hannover is founded. Thursday, 26 November 2009, the first QUEST Leibniz Research School was opened. Prof. Karl-Heinz Glaßmeier, TU Braunschweig, gave a lecture on "Faszination Weltraum – Wie ich lernte, den Merkur zu lieben". The Research School was initiated by QUEST.
With this facility, the Leibniz Universität Hannover expands her research friendly structures. The Research School connects the faculties in an interdisciplinary way. Compared to QUEST however, the Leibniz Research School accentuates the teaching: for instance, a new interdisciplinary master is planned. It is also possible to do a doctorate, for example as part of graduate programs such as HALOSTAR.
