A rich variety of introductory offerings
Every year, the Herrenhausen gardens serve as a unique venue for the International Firework Competition, which is one of the most important events of its kind in the world. On five Saturdays from May to September, the best pyrotechnists from five different nations display their skills. The 22nd International Fireworks Competition will continue on 9 June 2012 with a display by China. Here you can buy Tickets online (information in german only).
From the early evening onwards visitors are entertained by a diverse accompanying programme: the live music, variety acts and dramatic performances begin at 6.30 p.m., to the equal delight of younger and older spectators. And as darkness falls, the excitement and anticipation mount to fever pitch.

25 August: Portugal - Grupo Luso Pirotecnia
8 September: England - Jubilee Fireworks
22 September: Croatia - Mirnovec Pirotehnika

Fantastic pictures in the sky
A radiance like glittering flower blossoms appears from nowhere, shimmering pearls rain down, the sky is transfigured by pyrotechnics on a monumental scale. And to complete this expression of consummate artistry, all this visual splendour unfolds in perfect accord with an accompanying carpet of sound.
Each firework display lasts 25 minutes. First comes an obligatory programme, after which the firework artists have the opportunity to give full expression to their creativity in the free section. The baroque garden itself is drawn into the overall presentation as an essential ingredient: the complete work of art must include a fixed number of ground elements. And when it is all over, the technical execution, the diversity of the effects and the interplay with the music are assessed by a panel of adjudicators.
Herrenhausen Gardens
The Herrenhausen Gardens are Hannover’s most famous sight and attraction. The heart of the complex, the Great Garden, thrills tourists from all over the world and provides a right royal setting for a variety of incomparable events. Just as the elegant ladies and gentlemen of the court used to do in days gone by, so still today visitors can stroll pleasurably between richly ornamented flowerbeds and magnificent sculptures. Created by Electress Sophia as “Grand Jardin de la Leine”, the Great Garden is one of the few gardens of its time that have been preserved with their original basic structure right down to today.
Please don't hesitate to contact us for the ticket prices for groups of 20 or more persons and for further information on the International Firework Competition.
